ASTUTEMED was founded in 2021 from the successful business merger of Medical Tax & Accounting founded by Matt Connor in 2007 and Astute Advisory founded by Sandeep Singh in 2016. Together the Directors bring a wealth of knowledge to their clients providing in-depth knowledge and experience in tax, business services, valuations and strategic planning with the highest integrity standards.

Each Director backs their technical expertise with an ongoing commitment to providing quality advice that’s right for every individual and business.

  • Matt Connor is the Director at ASTUTEMED, a Chartered Accountant and experienced business advisor with over 25 years in the industry. He has a particular focus on supporting clients in the medical and professional services sectors.

    Matt works closely with both business and private clients to develop and implement strategies that drive growth, maximise profitability, and enhance business value. His background in business services, tax, and assurance consulting enables him to analyse complex data and deliver clear, actionable insights.

    Known for his strategic thinking and practical approach, Matt has helped numerous clients achieve their financial and business goals.

  • Sandeep Singh is a Director of ASTUTEMED, a Chartered Tax Adviser with a strong focus on strategic tax planning, business advisory, and business valuations. He works closely with medical specialists, GPs, dental practices, and other healthcare professionals across Australia, helping them navigate the financial and regulatory complexities of running a healthcare business.

    With a background specialising in business advisory, Sandeep delivers practical, forward-thinking guidance tailored to clients from the healthcare industry. His focus is on helping them understand the full financial landscape of their practice—whether it's optimising tax outcomes, refining complex business structures, or assessing the value of a business for succession, acquisition, or growth.

    Sandeep takes a proactive approach, staying ahead of industry changes to ensure clients are well-informed and well-positioned. His advisory style is built on clarity, trust, and long-term relationships—tailoring strategies to each client’s goals while providing insight that drives confident decision-making.

    In addition to his role at ASTUTEMED, Sandeep has served on the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA)Disciplinary Committee Board (2023–2024) and is currently the Deputy President of the IPA Queensland Divisional Advisory Committee, contributing to the advancement of professional standards and governance in the accounting industry.
